Márquez triumphs at home after the most close battle with Rossi and Pedrosa

Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) has added his seventh consecutive victory of the 2014 season at the Monster Energy Grand Prix of Catalunya after an all-out duel with Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) and his team mate Dani Pedrosa, with whom he has played on the last lap.

The seventh victory of the year for Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) in the 2014 Championship, the hardest and most difficult for the championship leader, which today had to be used in depth before an ambitious and unleashed Valentino Rossi, leader during the first two thirds of the test, and before his teammate Dani Pedrosa, who has endured the pulse of Lleida until the last corner.
Pedrosa, who started on pole for the first time since the Grand Prix of Catalunya last year, has made a great start, but the initial leader was Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP), who in the first few minutes has rolled ahead of Rossi and Márquez.

The Italian has taken the lead by overtaking the Spaniards and has maintained that position while the duo of the official team Honda went to the brawl, measuring with mutual overtaking. The party of the `fantastic four ‘has been joined by Stefan Bradl (LCR Honda), although it was soon seen that he had more difficulties to shoot with the first ones.

The pilots faced the final third of the test when some drops have fallen in some parts of the circuit and in the pit lane the mechanics have been agitated preparing a possible change of bikes. It has been a false alarm, since the weather has not come to condition the end of the race.

Pedrosa had overtaken the world champion after an error of this one that made him leave the track momentarily and Márquez counterattacked taking the head of the race, but only momentarily, since before the doubt of having advanced with yellow flag and the one of Cervera has chosen to give two positions. One lap later, however, he has tried again and this time the overtaking has curdled.

The trio has continued to run very close, which has enabled Pedrosa to overtake Rossi with four laps to go. An exciting and uncertain ending was favored, since the differences were less than 3 tenths between the first and the third. That’s how it has been. Pedrosa has not given his arm to twist and has tried to overtake Márquez in the last corner, but the maneuver has been unsuccessful and the Barcelona has lost the line and the second after his front wheel slightly collided with the back of his rival .

Márquez already crossed the finish line with half a second of advantage over Rossi and Pedrosa did it next, 1.3 seconds behind the man who dominates the championship with an iron hand. Lorenzo was fourth in a race marked by his lack of confidence with the front tire. Behind, the Espargaró brothers have signed an excellent result on the home track, with Pol (Monster Yamaha Tech3) in sixth position and Aleix (Forward Racing) in the seventh. Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team), Andrea Iannone (Pramac Racing) and Bradley Smith (Monster Yamaha Tech) have completed the top 10.

Márquez now has 175 points, 58 more than Rossi, who today has taken second place and 63 more than Pedrosa.

The negative side of the race was for Karel Abraham (Cardion AB Motoracing), fallen in the second round, Cal Crutchlow (Ducati Team), who has left due to problems in his saddle, like Álvaro Bautista (GO & FUN Honda Gresini) He has been forced to take the road to the pits in the third round. He also left Mike Di Meglio (Avintia Racing), also burdened by technical problems on his bike.
