Win for Márquez and Triple Crown for Repsol Honda

The 2019 MotoGP World Champion takes his twelfth win of the season.

Marc Márquez closed the season with another victory, completing a practically perfect year in which he took twelve wins and six second positions.

It was his eighteenth podium of the year, a record for a single season (exceeding the 16 for Rossi in 2003 and 2008, Stoner in 2011, Lorenzo in 2010 and 2012 and Márquez himself in 2013). He now holds the record for points in a single campaign, with 420 (surpassing Lorenzo’s 383 from 2010).

The Repsol Honda Team rider broke the race track record on Lap 4 today.

The results for Márquez and Lorenzo allow Repsol Honda to win the team title for a third consecutive season. It is the tenth for the outfit in the 18 seasons since the award was created (2002, 2003, 2006, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, and 2019).

Marc Márquez, 1º : “A perfect end to a perfect season with the victory! I put a little extra pressure on myself with the gold helmet, so I needed to be extra smart! We did exactly what we wanted to do and won the Team Championship, taking the Triple Crown in this amazing season. Always the Riders Championship is the first objective, but I was happy to help win the Team Championship, not just for them but also for Jorge who has been a great champion, a hard rival and a great teammate. It will be difficult to improve on this year because we rode in a perfect way. “
